Commercial ComplianceThe Revenue Department, Govt. of Maharashtra on September 10, 2026, notified the Stamp Duty Remission for Renewable Energy Projects.

The Government has fully remitted stamp duty otherwise payable under Article 25(b) of Schedule I to the Maharashtra Stamp Act, 1958, on conveyance/sale instruments for internal transfer of land between Group Companies or Special Purpose Vehicles (SPVs) associated with a Renewable Energy Project. The remission applies where the transfer is solely for internal restructuring, financing or implementation of the specific project and the land remains permanently dedicated to the project. The benefit is available only for instruments executed on or after publication of the Order. If the land is subsequently used for another purpose or transferred to a third party, the remission is withdrawn ab initio, with the remitted stamp duty becoming payable along with applicable interest and penalty.
